Hi, my name is Anshul Singhal and I live in Baltimore, MD. I am a graduate of the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Hyderabad in India, and currently pursuing my master’s in information security from Johns Hopkins University. I completed my bachelor’s in Computer Science in 2018 and have worked as an Analyst at Goldman Sachs, followed by high-frequency trading firm AlphaGrep securities, where I worked as a Senior Analyst.

Low Latency C++ Developer Simulation Architecture Design
After almost two years at Goldman, I joined AlphaGrep Securities, where my primary work responsibility was to write low latency C++ code. High Frequency Trading is an extremely time-sensitive activity, and it falls on me to reduce latency with best network programming practices, and build efficient systems.

At Goldman Sachs, which I joined through campus placements, I worked both as a software engineer and security engineer. I made an internal web app for banking systems in ReactJS, which is in use across different teams even today. I promoted security best practices, organised talks, and a successful CTF for colleagues. I designed architectures of new systems and products, implemented new features, built data pipelines, and fixed bugs for the ’Honest Dollar by Goldman Sachs’.

- Configured Datadog and Newrelic for system-wide monitoring and alerting.
- Wrote chef recipes for monitoring tools configs management.
It was a great place to get to know a large infrastructure and I finally started automating things in the cloud. I learned about SRE protocols, provisioning, automating deployments but unfortunately, I couldn’t work on those tools due to time limitation.
